Today Mrs. Gusky's cousin came to talk to us about safety. Mr. Albert is a Louisiana State Trooper.

Senior Project - The Wetlands

Today Vanessa van Heerden visited Trinity to speak to the fifth grade about the Wetlands.
She is a senior at Baton Rouge High School. She was in Mrs. Gusky's third grade at Trinity in 2002.

She made the sculpture from all of the things she found during her clean up at Elmer's Island.

Emergency Nurses Association Concussion Prevention Program

Today several pediatric nursing students from Southwestern Louisiana University School of Nursing visited Trinity. They spoke about concussion prevention. The students really enjoyed this presentation and asked very pertinent questions. This was fun and informative for all.

A special thank you to Missy Wafer. Missy is a registered nurse and instructor. She is the mother of two former Trinity students. Missy also teaches CPR to the teachers at Trinity.

Today was the hundredth day of school. Wow! Fifth grade is flying by.

Matthew shared his collection of Yu-Gi-Oh cards. He brought one hundred today.

Brice brought 2 Thomas Jefferson quotes, 25 funny cat pictures and 73 Mardi Gras bead necklaces to share with the class.

We had our first Student Council meeting today! We went over ideas and even came up with an agenda. We will have meetings regularly. As the Secretary, I am in charge of printing the agenda and turning it in. We have everything very organized.

Dear Trinity Students,

Hi, my name is James Lindquist. I have been elected your Student Council President and I'm in fifth grade. I have some very good ideas. One idea is the bully box. If someone is being bullied, he or she can write the bully's name or names on a piece of paper anonymously and put it in a box so the teachers can be on the lookout for bully behavior. I am sure that I will come up with some other ideas also. If you have any concerns or ideas for me to share with the council, I can be reached in Room 212/ 213 or (Mrs. Gusky's classroom).
